Light
weight when compared to glass, acrylic cabochons (cabs) are
solid, transparent, polished and void-free. They are professional
grade, flat on one side and convex on the other, with no foil
backing. These are injection molded* with a plastic equivalent
to Lucite and Plexiglass. Larger cabochons, over 18mm are
packaged individually to protect the finish.

The convex dome causes whatever you place underneath to
be magnified, such as artwork or photos mounted with clear
glue.
Great for craft projects like custom buttons, fridge magnets,
and broaches. Whether its reverse painting on clear cabochons,
or mounting decoupage of a photo or image onto the shape,
its fun creativity for both kids and adults.
Clear cabochons are also used for acrylic displays, custom
acrylic work, and jewelry making.

Round Clear Acrylic Cabochons
Superior
quality acrylic cabochons. Not like the ones you'll find
in most craft stores or hobby shops.
*These cabochons are injection molded and as such have
a small spot on the edge where the plastic is injected
into the mold. We call the point of plastic entry the
gate. We try to keep the gate mark as small as possible
but larger cabochons will have a larger
mark than smaller ones.
Additionally,
due to the process we use to make these, you may find
that not 100% of the cabs in your package will be flawless.
Slight blemishes or other imperfections may be visible
mainly on the larger products. (18mm and over). It is
hard to give a number but the quantity could be anywhere
from 2 - 10% depending on your degree of scrutiny.
For
these reasons we recommend that new buyers of this product
start off with the smallest unit package. Please refer
to the RETURN
POLICY EXCEPTION.
Note that we are experimenting with another process for
manufacturing these cabs. We refer to the new process
as Type R. Type R cabs will have the following enhanced
features.
1. No injection gate. 2. Lower blemish rate approaching
0%. 3. Improved flatness (but we are not 100% sure about
that claim yet).
